Sitting still, I take a minute

Feel the air upon my skin, it

Wakes me up and makes me feel

So glad to be alive and in it.

O what a knucklehead am I

Acting as if I’ll never die

Fret, fuss, and bother in every gear

Ticked at the tock I can faintly hear

Day after day, and from year to year

Precious time

Disappears.

Tools at hand

And toys surround me

World designed by man

Tippy-toed and screaming

As I try to understand.

Sitting still, I take a minute

Feel the air upon my skin, it

Wakes me up and makes me feel

So glad to be alive and in it.

Sitting still, I take a minute

Feel the air upon my skin, it

Wakes me up and makes me feel

So glad to be alive and in it.

A moment or so

And my molecules glow

As my nerve endings tingle and hum

The birds chat and sing

While the pond does its thing

The breeze cools me down

As I’m warmed by the sun.

Here’s what I think I maybe know

Watching the morning come and go

Daily surprises will frequently

Bring with them new opportunities

Sinking or swimming has got to be

Finally

Up to me.

Back again

To face the music

Take it tenderly

May the calm hang on a while

Until once more I’ll be…

Sitting still, I take a minute

Feel the air upon my skin, it

Wakes me up and makes me feel

So glad to be alive and in it.

Sitting still, I take a minute

Feel the air upon my skin, it

Wakes me up and makes me feel

So glad to be alive and in it.
