When I Talk to You
When I talk to you
I hereby vow
That nothing matters more
No way, no how
Whatever's going on
Can be postponed
'Cause when I talk to you
I'm yours alone.
The spinning of my wheels
Seldom deigns to cease
The chatter in my head
Abides no peace
The thousand tiny threads
I dare not let go
I'm never where I am
I'm somewhere I dunno.
But when I talk to you
I'm here and now
And nothing matters more
No way, no how
Whatever's going on
Can be postponed
'Cause when I talk to you
I'm yours alone.
All we get is this slender sliver of time
And where on earth could I better spend
These few precious moments of mine?
It's mirrors otherwise
With a dash of smoke
A strategy deployed
In a hail of jokes.
Magicians only show
What they mean to show
But when it's you and me
I let the rabbit go.
When I talk to you
My solemn vow
Is nothing matters more
No way, no how
Whatever's going on
Can be postponed
'Cause when I talk to you
I'm yours alone.
'Cause when I talk to you
I swear it’s true
There’s nothing on my mind
Except for you
And nothing in my life
So dear and sweet
As each and every
Time you talk to me.
